Boxford STS Lathe Restoration

I purchased this old Boxford STS Lathe for my garage that was very dirty and was in need of restoration. It was covered in 40 years' worth of oil, grease and grime. I completely dismantled the machine, including the headstock and feed gearboxes, apron assembly etc. I used WD40 along with abrasive pads to clean and polish all the components before reassembly. I have found that WD40 is the best product for these types of jobs as it is safe and easily gets the job done. I also repainted the base, backsplash and control box, replaced some gears and got the machine back together. It is now running beautifully and should serve me well for many years to come.
