I bought my car from when I was 14! A 1978 Mk2 Ford Escort

My Dad and brother bought me my first car. A 1978 MK2 Ford Escort. It was $500! I was 14 years old and didn't get my license. I loved working on that car and it became one of many I have restored over my now 46 years. A couple of years ago a mk2 came up on Facebook. A friend and I drove an 11-hour return trip to collect it! I suggested it would be a simple project, unlike others we had done, however before long we had fully tripped the car and as usual along with my mate Jimbo, a 3-year build commenced. It was fully gutted, sandblasted, painted, new interior and rebuilt engine. WD-40 was used many times to remove very rusty bolts, clean chrome and polish metal. This has been an awesome family project. My wife has now claimed ownership of the car and named it Eddie! Eddie the Escort is less than a month away from being on the road!
